Nicnas and soap

Here's a petition dear to my heart:
http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/reform-nicnas-registration.html
I would love to make a few dollars from selling some of my soap, but I feel I can't cos I woudln't want to be caught and fined!
If the fees were less, I'd pay them (even though I don't think Nicnas would do ANYTHING for me! But I'd love to be proven wrong) so I can sell, in person, or on Etsy.
My soaps ARE nice! LOL! I want to sell them, but NICNAS is in the way, so please, sign the petition to help out small scale soapers like me.

In the meantime I'm enjoying seeing how this soap will change, one of the fragrances I used makes the soap darker, I'll post another picture in a few weeks.

It smells of coconut and pineapple!!! I just love it! I pick it up and smell it frequently!!!!

I love homemade soap. As a fellow soapmaker, I can definitely appreciate the loveliness of the process, the finished product, and how affirming it is to be able to sell your wares (and thus support your "habit"). Phooey about those silly rules and laws. :(

Yumm coconut scented soap. You are posting some lovely creative things on your blog, really enjoyed the inspiration and passions you share.

Thanks for linking to the petition on your Blog! I hope the petition can at least provide a united and personal account of how this fee affects many soap makers and small business. It's hard to create change, as the people who make these policies are probably out of touch with small soap makers and politicians probably have more pressing issues to pursue - but ya never know! Perhaps they will change it simply so they don't have to deal with all the complaints :)
